2010 Programs

December 2010:
Agave Quilters Guild Holiday Luncheon.

November 2010:
Lynda Luiten, owner of The Quilter's Market in Tucson is our speaker. The market was born when owner Lynda, a pharmaceutical sales representative, decided it was time for a career change. Lynda located the shop on Tucson's east side to be close to home after many years of travel. She stocked it with the bright, contemporary and vibrant colors she loved. Lynda will be providing demos on the "X-Box" quilt and may also have items available for purchase.

October 2010:
This month we have a lecture and show with Arizona's own Patrick Lose (pronounced "lowz"). Patrick is a favorite teacher at 3 Dudes Quilting. He has a book published and is well known in the international quilt world for his whimsical and artsy quilts and fabric designs. Patrick will be doing some demos and will have fabric and patterns on hand for purchase.

February 2010:
Our guest speaker this month is Ray from 3 Dudes Quilting. Ray's presentation will cover how one pattern makes many different quilts. He brought examples of several quilts showing how this is accomplished. He also mentioned Patrick Lose kits and fan club at the shop, their one year anniversary, and BOM. If you missed the 3 Dudes Quilting presentation at the September 2009 meeting, you won't want to miss this one.

January 2010:
Sisters Barbara Groves and Mary Jacobson will be here from Me and My Sister Designs to present a trunk show and share their designs with us. Barbara and Mary have had their hands in every aspect of quilting. Not only are they the former owners of the quilt shop Quilters Koop in Ahwatukee, they are designers for Moda Fabrics, developed the Sidewinder portable bobbin winder, and designed hundreds of quilts patterns that are featured in their own published books available online at Me and My Sister Designs and elsewhere.
