2018 Programs

December 2018:
Agave Quilters Guild Holiday Luncheon. Members celebrated the holiday season with a festive luncheon at Palo Verde. They enjoyed friendships, good food, fun games with prizes, and Show and Tell inspiration to start off the New Year with new ideas and incentives for quilting.

 

 

 


November 2018:
Valerie Boman of White Picket Fence Quilts in Chandler was our speaker for November. Valerie is an NQA certified quilt show judge, experienced teacher, and long arm quilter. Her patterns and books included pieced, appliqued, and embroidered quilts. She presented a trunk show displaying pieced applique and hand embroidery quilts designed and made by her and also brought books and patterns for purchase. Guest fee $5.00.

 

 

 


October 2018:
Our scheduled guest speaker is Madonna, owner of Mad B's Quilt and Sew in Mesa. Madonna will present her 10 favorite things to the group.

 

 

 

 


September 2018:
Programs will start in October.

 

 

 

 

 


June - July - August: Happy Summer - no meetings were held!


May 2018:
DeeAnne Russell trunk show is scheduled.

 

 

 

 


April 2018:
Agave Quilters Guild Spring Luncheon. Members only.

 

 

 

 


March 2018:
Penny Sturgis of Quilts Illustrated in Sun Lakes, Arizona, is scheduled. Penny is known for her multitude of quilted bag designs in all sizes and shapes.

 

 

 

 


February 2018:
Our guest speaker is Kelly Grant, a certified Judy Neimeyer instructor. After discovering and creating her first quilt using the unique foundation paper piecing technique of Judy Neimeyer and taking classes from Judy herself, Kelly completed training to become a Quiltworx Certified Instructor in 2014. Kelly will bring more than 60 Quiltworx quilts to show at the meeting. Guest fee $5.

 

 

 


January 2018:
Our scheduled program speakers are Betty Hahn and Sandy Branjord, internationally recognized artists and quilters. Betty recently exhibited at the International Quilt Show in Houston, was included in an article in the October issue of Quilting Arts Magazine, and currently has a quilt included in Art Quilts 22. Both have an exhibit at the Chandler Center for the Arts. Guest fee $5.

 

 

 

 


 

Membership

Agave Quilters Guild is open to all persons interested in quilting. Dues are $25 per year (prorated if you join mid-year). Contact our Membership Chair with questions or to join. See our About Us page for more information.

Meetings

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month from 1:00pm to 3:00pm (except June, July, and August).
