2026 Programs

June - July - August: Happy Summer - no meetings are held during the summer months - see you in September!

May 2026:
Merci Apodaca's Quilting Journey is our program scheduled in May. Merci makes beautiful quilts inspired by her Hispanic heritage. She started out sewing garments and now loves making quilts. Members will be in for an inspiring afternoon.

April 2026:
Cristy Fincher, owner of Purple Daisies Quilting in Tempe AZ, and daughter of Master Quilter, Sharon Schamber, was our speaker in April. Her talk was titled "That wasn't in the pattern: 10 things quilters should know." Unfortunately I was not able to be at this meeting so I don't have any info to share at this time.

March 2026:

Sebrina Riddle, owner of West Valley Quilting in Litchfield AZ, was our March speaker. Sebrina inherited her passion for creating unique works of art with fabric from her mother. During today's program, Sebrina shared a variety of beautiful quilts that started as a simple fabric panel (click on Sebrina's photo to the left, for samples). She turned them into stunning works of art simply by adding interesting and varied borders. You would never guess they started as a fabric panel. You can bet our members are pulling their fabric panels out of their closets after being so inspired. Check out her website here: West Valley Quilting where Sebrina and her husband, James, run a longarm quilting service and also offer a selection of quilt quality fabrics and supplies for purchase.

February 2026:
Madonna Baker Randt, owner of Mad B's Quilt and Sew, never fails to draw a crowd when speaking at Agave Quilters Guild. Her presentation today delivered information on different fabrics that can be used in quilting, from traditional cottons to Minky type fabrics. Madonna went into great detail while passing around fabric samples for everyone to touch and see up close which is what our members love. Everyone gained valuable insights that will help improve their future quilting projects. Visit her website here: Mad B's Quilt and Sew

January 2026:
Kim Kubsch, author of Joy of Downsizing, was such a delightful speaker! She shared too many tips for conquering sewing room clutter to list them all here but left us with a wonderful 3-page handout. She recommends first and foremost, start small. Instead of trying to tackle an entire room, start with a cupboard, drawer, or half of a cabinet or closet. Check out her website here: Joyful Downsizing.
